Clean Hydrogen Advocacy
Driving transformative policy for a sustainable hydrogen economy across production, infrastructure, and standards.
Our Accomplishments Include:
Advising lawmakers on the design and creation of the Regional Clean Hydrogen Hub Program and the $8 billion in funding appropriated through the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. Through CHFC members involved in the hubs, the Coalition continues to advocate for program implementation with Congress and the administration.
45V Hydrogen Production Tax Credit
CHFC was a key participant in the design and creation of the 45V hydrogen production tax credit with lawmakers, the implementation of the tax credit before the IRS and Treasury, and in successfully advocating and educating lawmakers on the importance of maintaining the 45V tax credit in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
CO2 Intensity
CHFC initiated the shift to CO2 intensity-based classification of hydrogen production methods and away from color-coded categorization in federal policy, an approach that has been replicated by several global organizations.
Advancing Federal Hydrogen Policy
To catalyze a clean hydrogen industry in the United States, CHFC designs and advocates for federal policies to scale the full supply chain for clean hydrogen production, transport, storage, and use, as well as the technology development and infrastructure needs across multiple sectors.
CHFC has played a central role in advancing federal hydrogen policy which would not have been possible without the collective engagement and credibility of CHFC’s membership.
Tax Strategies for Hydrogen Innovation
CHFC champions financial mechanisms that accelerate clean hydrogen technologies. Our approach targets comprehensive economic support across the hydrogen value chain.
Hydrogen Infrastructure Development
Building the backbone for a clean hydrogen economy requires strategic infrastructure investments. CHFC supports comprehensive network development.
